Floral dress, blue skirt, and mustard sweater have gotten quite a bit of wear recently. Can you tell?

0utfits 15-25 (Is this cheating?)
Like I said in my last post, it's been a bit busy these last few weeks. Pretty much a HORRIBLE time to try and take outfit photos and post them. Many bloggers do a outfit recap where they show the last 10 Outfits from their 30 X 30. Me? I just show ten outfits at a time and pretend I have talked about them previously. I will say that it probably took me longer than normal just getting these pictures up here...

Short Hiatus...be back soon!
Due to a combination of school work, teaching work and plain busy-ness, I will return to blogging next week. I did take pictures, so here are the ones from last week:

eight + nine... thank God for scarves, jeggings, and necklaces
What? Did you say you've seen this outfit before?
Ah yes. That's right. It actually is outfit #7 with a change in shoes and scarf. I can't tell you how many times a change in neck and foot wear have made a whole new outfit for me. Or, at least, allowed me to trick people into thinking I was wearing a whole new outfit. In my defense, the only person who saw me wear outfit 7 and 8 was J, and he doesn't mind.
Outfit 9 is one that I wear pretty much every week. I adore this shirt (taken from my brother's closet awhile ago) and find it to be the ultimate in comfort. These jeggings have been worn so much that, well, let's just say they might need to be retired soon. There is some debate as to whether these are, in fact, jeggings. They are from old navy and are considered the "rockstar jean" and they call them denim leggings (ie jeggings). But unlike other jeggings they actually have functioning pockets. Maybe we can just call them the perfect jegging. Thank you, Old Navy. You rock and so these jeggings.
This necklace was purchased at a cute consignment shop in town. I love this necklace - perfect length, perfect size and it has a hidden secret...it's also a watch!
What are your "thank God" items?

six and seven exposed
I'm low on words and time so I'm going to make this quick.
Remember this shirt? Well it's back! I actually have had this outfit in mind since well before the 30 for 30. It came together pretty well, although the weather apparently didn't appreciate my efforts. It was in the bitter cold degrees yesterday and this outfit did not defend from the elements so well. Good thing for my gigantic jacket!
A word about sunlight, photo-taking and limited skills with a camera. These factors were all working against me when I took the next round of photos as you will see:
I wanted to get a closeup on my beautiful scarf (c/o my mother) and this is what happened:
Anyone know how to make the sun do what you it to?

High Fives and getting the memo
No seriously, someone give me a high five for this ensemble. On a day that was cold and grim, I beat the case of the Monday's and got the memo to bring on the color and sparkle (the buttons on my cardigan sparkle). Easy outfit to put together and incredibly comfortable for my day of studying, lesson planning and class attending that ensued in this get up. Ironically, there were three other ladies in my class wearing a similar colored sweater. Guess they got the memo, too.
What did you do to beat the Monday blues?

Four the record
Just FOUR the record, I tend to wear this hat often on the weekends. A student of mine lovingly calls it "The Pocket Hat" as to denote the TWO (see this post) pockets donning the sides of this piece. So in a rush to get out of the house and to an appointment, on went the hat. And the rest of my clothes, of course.

The third time is charming
I blame J for the title. I asked him what I should title my post and it devolved into this. I think it is quite true. This is the best he could come up with right now as he works on a managing edit for law school. Very serious stuff.
So the outfit...I thought this dress was going to be a seamless addition to my 30 for 30 challenge. In reality, it has proven to put the challenge into the 30 for 30. I bought the dress on super sale at Target but in order to score the deal, I had to purchase it a size bigger than I would have liked. The result? It billows...alot. I sort of feel like I'm taming a wild animal when I wear this dress. Thank God for the pockets. And my work horse shirt to tame the wild beast.

I need two orders...TWO!
"TWO" has become a running joke in my relationship with J, thanks to a funny story about a guy he worked with awhile ago. You have to hear him say it...just KILLS me!
I have officially emerged from the 2011 Snowpocalyspe. I was successfully able to sled down my stairs leading out my front door, shovel out my car from a drift that went up to my hip and was successfully able to go sledding with friends until we couldn't feel our fingers and toes.
On to the reason why you are here reading this.
As I promised I wanted to write a little more about outfit #1. This dress has been a surprising work horse in my closet. It is extremely comfortable, versatile, has pockets (!!) and generally makes me feel great. So I wear it...a lot.
The shirt was given to me along with several others by a friend who was cleaning out her closet. Also a work horse and easy to mix.
On to outfit number TWO...
If you live in the midwest, it ESSENTIAL that you own a good pair of snow boots. The problem with snow boots are that they are, generally speaking, really unattractive. This makes no difference, however, when you are toasty warm during a snowpocalyspe. Which is exactly what happened as a trudged around in these boots. This outfit was also the outfit I sledded down my front stairs in. So the outfit may not have been the most put-together and chic but damn, was it warm and cozy!
The earrings, which I should get a close up of, are a gift from J and the birdcage necklace is from a little consignment store in town.
If you are wondering about the stats on my clothes, you can click on my 30 for 30 items and they should appear on my flickr photostream.
Hope all who were hit by the snowpocalypse have made it out ok and with style to boot (ha ha)!

SNOWPOCALYPSE NOW
AH!!! The snowpocalypse has officially come to the midwest. Classes were actually canceled at the University where I attend grad school (and that NEVER happens). Of course, they canceled classes during times I don't attend class. GREEAAATT.
So I will attribute my very late post to the storm that is in the midst of consuming us.
On to more important matters...
The 30 for 30 challenge has begun!! After much hemming and hawing about which items to include ( and one last minute game changer) I have all my items and am excited to step up the plate.
Here are the items:
Three Dresses
Five Shirts
Three Sweaters
Three Tank Tops
Three Skirts
Three knit tops
Three pants
five shoes
One vest, one jacket
The game changer was the vest. I swapped it in and swapped out a sweater (eek! that might have been a bad idea!) But I love that vest and find it can bring interest to a not so interesting outfit easier. That, and a scarf. You will be seeing a lot of scarves.
I'll add a sneak peak of my first outfit and talk more about it tomorrow.
Hope you are safe and warm!
(especially if you have been hit by...THE SNOWPOCALYPSE!)
